Growing up in Galesburg, Kevin spent most of his childhood figuring out how to work every electronic gadget he could get his hands on. Eventually he hooked up with a local group of radio stations and, before he even graduated from high school, mastered everything from filling in air shifts to news and sports production to engineering.
Kevin went on to Northern Illinois University where he worked in radio in DeKalb, Rockford, and Chicago. He even began his own Internet radio stations as a hobby! After graduating from NIU, he managed a group of radio stations in the cornfields of Iowa, then moved to Bloomington/Normal to serve as Operations Manager another radio group. It was here that Kevin developed his passion for the technical side of radio, working closely with the station's engineers and eventual taking over himself in 2006. In just six months, he built 2 new radio stations, 2 brand new studios, and brought the operation back from the devastation of a lightning strike. Kevin says while this was probably the hardest he has ever worked, i twas an incredibly rewarding experience.
Near the end of 2007 Kevin made two big life changes. He got married and he joined the staff at GLT as Broadcast Technologist. He's guy who helps keep the staff productive and station on the air, making sure the computers stay in line and the meters all move to the right. At home Kevin spends time with his wife, watches a lot of movies, eats a lot of buffalo wings, listens to a lot of music, loves "reasonably priced" wine, and rides his bike as much as he can.
