WGLT is a non-profit National Public Radio member station whose funding comes from three primary sources: government funding, listener contributions , and corporate underwriters. Over the last 15 years the government funding for GLT has dropped from 91% of our operating budget to about 47%. Although listener contributions have quadrupled, they have not kept up with the growing expenses of running a high-caliber radio station. Underwriting from local businesses is now an essential component of the GLT funding mix.
