GLT Event Sponsorship

Each year GLT presents a variety of special events. Some are fundraisers for the station’s Equipment Fund and others are opportunities for us to “give back” to the incredibly generous community that supports our on-air programming.

GLT events range from concerts and festivals to antique shows and recycled music sales. Community focused, they are always executed with the highest degree of creativity and professionalism.

With these events come unique opportunities for sponsors to enhance their standing in the community while connecting with GLT's very special audience.

Sponsorship Opportunities

Corporate Sponsorships
As a corporate sponsor, you will be recognized in all promotional materials related to the event including: press releases, posters, fliers, the GLT newsletter and GLT Guide, online at www.wglt.org and in any third-party advertising. This is all in addition to an extensive promotional campaign on-air with WGLT-FM 89.1/103.5 Normal/Peoria.

GLT Booth Sponsorships
GLT is directly involved with several music, arts and cultural festivals every year, and as a GLT Booth Sponsor, your business can be too! We will work with you to find inventive ways to promote your business to festival attendees in the heart of the action.

GLT Live On-Air Updates
For nearly every event with which GLT is involved, we have on-air personalities on the ground who frequently broadcast live updates over the GLT airwaves. As a sponsor of these live updates, you will spread your message to GLT listeners both at and away from the event and will allign your business with the positive emotions listeners associate with the event.

Annual GLT Events

GLT Summer Concert
The GLT Summer Concert is a FREE Jazz and Blues concert on the courthouse square in downtown Bloomington. Taking place on a Saturday in early June, this event attracts thousands every year and has become the unofficial gateway to the summer festival season, complete with cold beverages and festival food. But the food and the atmosphere are just part of the fun. The real reason to party is the great jazz and blues on the stage! Past highlights include Freddy Cole Trio , Karrin Allyson and Los Straitjackets. The GLT Summer Concert is a feel-good way to thank your customers, and make new ones as well!

Sugar Creek Arts Festival
Every summer, the second weekend in July, artists and spectators from all over the country flock to downtown Normal for one of Illinois' premier art festivals. For two days, the quaint streets of downtown Normal become flooded with tents as 150 vendors display their original, fine-art and fine-craft. Throw in some great food, live music and children's activities, and you'll get why this event has a heritage decades long. Throw in a sponsorship with GLT and you'll get why this has become an excellent marketing opportunity as well.

Nothin' But the Blues Festival
Where do Koko Taylor, Tab Benoit, Debra Coleman, and Johnny Winter like to spend their summer? We're not sure. But we do know they've all paid a visit to the Nothin' But the Blues Festival on the third weekend of July. Every year, thousands of blues fans from central Illinois pile on to the grounds of the Bloomington Sale Barn to see who will light up the stage next. And with GLT, your business can be part of the action.

GLT Night at the Illinois Shakespeare Festival
The Illinois Shakespeare Festival is a nationally-recognized festival that takes place each summer on the grounds of the historic Ewing Manor in Bloomington. This festival ranks high on the list of things that puts Bloomington/Normal on the map, but for one night each year, GLT ups the ante. Along with an open-air performance of a Shakespeare classic, participants at "GLT Night" enjoy a gourmet dinner and live music on the Great Lawn. It's fine entertainment and a fine opportunity for your business to make new friends.

GLT Recycled Music Sale
Hidden treasures await you at the GLT Recycled Music Sale. Every August, we pile tens of thousands of LP's, CD's, tapes, sheet music, instruments and other various music-related paraphenenlia under one roof and turn the GLT audience loose on the treasure hunt of all treasure hunts. Collectors have traveled thousands of miles to take their chance at striking it rich with a rare find, and you can hit it big too by partnering with GLT on this perennial favorite.

Sweet Corn, Sweet Blues Festival
When the mercury rises in late August in central Illinois, there's one thing that keeps us all here...the sweet, buttery goodness of homegrown Illinois sweet corn. So, to celebrate this annual blessing of the gods, we close off the streets of downtown Normal and play the blues. It's sweet corn and sweet blues at the Sweet Corn, Sweet Blues Festival. What a sweet opportunity!

Illinois Blues Festival
There's a good reason that blues lovers in central Illinois stay close to home on Labor Day. They don't want to get too far from the Illinois Blues Festival at the Peoria Riverfront! For two decades, thousands of music lovers have been rockin' to artists like Magic Slim and the Teardrops, Carey Bell and Cephas & Wiggins.
