GLT HD- Now available in McLean County

We’ve known for years that GLT’s News, Blues and Jazz was cramped on just one radio station. Now, thanks to technological advances, we can bring you three full service public radio stations: An all news and information service, an all blues station and a station that duplicates our current on-air mix of formats.  And all three services are available as web streams.

HD radio allows you to hear our secondary stations as broadcasts, provided you upgrade to a new radio that receives HD radio signals, like the Accurian model (pictured) and provided you're listening within 30 miles of Bloomington-Normal. A number of brand-name HD Radio receivers are available for home, office and car at major consumer electronics stores and on line.

If you'd like to sample our new stations before you invest in a new radio you can listen to them online (see below) or you can borrow a radio from the GLT HD Radio Library.

If you're looking for an inexpensive, portable HD radio to purchase, try the Insignia. We've think it performs well and, best of all, it lets you take GLT HD channels with you wherever you go. Pocket sized, with a handy USB recharge, it's available at Best Buy, in store or online.

Learn more about HD radio by reading answers to Frequently Asked Questions.

Our main digital signal - GLT HD1, as mandated by the FCC, is a crisper sounding duplication of our current jazz and blues and NPR news and entertainment mix.

GLT HD2 brings you all blues all the time.  You can also check in GLT blues by logging on to current 24/7 blues stream.

With GLT HD3 you're never far from our mix of NPR news and ideas.  There’s more Morning Edition, starting earlier.  There’s more All Things Considered, running later and a full schedule of shows you’ve never heard (but once you do, will never miss). You can also listen to an on line stream
of News& Ideas. Aand as always, please let us know what you think.

GLT HD1, News Blues Jazz

This is the station that started it all. Listen to our main channel in digital audio (also available as on line stream). It's where Frank Black and Laura Kennedy got their start. It's still where you hear award winning jazz during the week. It's still the only place you can hear Radio Munson, American Routes and Center Stage. It’s the same news, blues and jazz mix you’ve come to love. It just sounds a bit better.

GLT HD2, Blues Radio 24/7

All blues all the time.  Your own radio station dedicated to the blues 24/7 (can you believe it?).  Listen to the on line stream right now. We plan to begin broadcasting to McLean county in early October and while you can hear the stream now, you'll need an HD Radio to hear the broadcast. You'll hear Jon Norton and New Music Monday at 6 AM and 6 PM. You’ll also hear artists including Bryan Lee, Jimmy Burns, Steve Guyger, Steve "The Harp" Mehlberg and Janiva Magness stepping in as guest DJs, Wednesdays at 6 AM and 6 PM. In between, you’ll hear our great mix of new and classic GLT Blues.

GLT HD3, News & Ideas

It’s all public radio news all the time. You’ll hear some shows already on our main channel, but at different times, giving you more options to catch your favorites. You’ll also hear a lot of new shows, including Radio Lab, Talk of the Nation and Conversations from the World Café. You’ll also get more GLT news updates and an earlier hour of Morning Edition and later hours of All Things Considered. We're broadcasting on GLT HD 3 now to McLean County. You'll need a new HD radio to hear the broadcast. In the mean time listen our to News & Ideas stream. See a schedule.
