Bloomington Police said a woman whose home was broken into shot the intruder.

The incident happened about 1:32 a.m. Friday. Officers say a home alarm went off from the garage in the 700 block of South Clayton.

The woman went there with a handgun and found a man.

"A physical altercation ensued, which was initiated by the intruder, and the resident shot the intruder," according to a police statement.

The man fled, but officers found a man who had been shot two blocks away. Mykale B. Davis, 21, did not have life-threatening injuries.

Officers said Davis is in the McLean County Jail, booked for aggravated battery and burglary.

Davis is already facing a felony theft charge in a different matter and was out on bond at the time of this incident.
