Bloomington Police: 4 Gunfire Reports In Past Week

UPDATED 2 p.m. | Bloomington Police are investigating four reports of gunfire in just the past week.

The four incidents happened late Wednesday, early Sunday, and Monday morning and evening in separate parties of the city. No injuries were reported and no arrests have been made, police said.

“The Bloomington Police Department is dedicating resources to the investigations to hold those endangering the safety of our community responsible,” police said in a statement.

According to Bloomington police, the four incidents were:

  • 10:30 p.m. Wednesday in the 900 block of S. Clayton St. in southeast Bloomington. Multiple gunshots seen and heard, with several subjects seen leaving scene in a silver sedan.
  • 4:33 a.m. Sunday in the 2200 block of Todd Drive in east Bloomington. Witnesses reported hearing several gunshots and seeing a male run away. Police found a vehicle with a broken window.
  • 1:37 a.m. Monday in the 900 block of W. Grove St. in west Bloomington. Multiple gunshots were heard. The gunfire struck at least two vehicles and one residence, police said.
  • 7:57 p.m. Monday near Oakland and Euclid avenues in west Bloomington. A woman driving on Euclid saw two black males point toward her car and then heard several gunshots. The males fled, and police found shell casings in the area.

Bloomington Police said the four incidents don't appear to be related.
