A McLean County Judge has found a 25-year old Bloomington man mentally fit to stand trial for murder.

Brian Peterson is accused of stabbing his parents to death in their rural home.

Bruce and Nancy Peterson died in July.

Brian Peterson has been held at a mental health center, but Judge Robert Frietag found him able to understand the charges and help his lawyer defend him. He will now be transferred to a jail cell.

Peterson's Attorney did receive permission to get another psychiatric examination.
