Central Illinois Republican Calling For Compromise

As the budget stalemate continues, Republican State Representative Bill Mitchell of Forsyth says the state needs a budget, and that means the Governor and legislators have to compromise. Mitchell isn't pointing the finger at any one party for the impasse:

"We need to realize that we've elected a Democrat general assembly and a Republican Governor. Neither side are gonna get what they want in it's entirety, but we need to work very hard to solve this problem because letting this thing fester is going to be a disaster for the people of the state of Illinois, it's absolutely insanity." Mitchell says leaders need to get into a room together and hash out some solutions for Illinois. He says this week's report from the Comptroller's office about state debt should be incentive for compromise.
