GLT Datebook: Artiture Creates Art To Build Homes

Habitat for Humanity of McLean County

Habitat for Humanity of McLean County and the local chapter of the International Interior Design Association have teamed up for a local fundraiser like no other.  Artiture is the fine art of giving old furniture a new twist, and giving folks a roof over their heads.

  • The fundraiser is Saturday, June 25th from 6 to 9 p.m. at Epiphany Farms Restaurant in Bloomington.
  • Local artists create one-of-a-kind items that are then auctioned off to benefit Habitat.
  • Many of the items are created from reclaimed or found materials and are then repurposed into stunning pieces of furniture and art.
  • Organizers feel this is a great pairing of home construction and interior design, and that a shared vision will help ensure success.
  • In addition to the auction, there's a member of the Zoo Crew offering to paint faces, ankles, shoulders, and hands.
  • They hope to raise in excess of $5,000 with the event.
  • Tickets are available through Habitat.
