History Museum Names New Executive Director

Adam Lovell
McLean County Museum of History
Adam Lovell will start April 2 at the McLean County Museum of History.

The McLean County Museum of History has a new executive director.

Adam Lovell will start April 2. He most recently worked assistant director and curator at the Rahr-West Art Museum in Manitowoc, Wisconsin, and eight years as curator of collections at the Detroit Historical Society in Michigan. His 18-year career in museum operations also included time at the Dalmatian Cultural Society in Auckland, New Zealand.

Lovell succeeds Beth Whisman, who left the post recently to become director of Normal's Children's Discovery Museum and Cultural Arts department. Her predecessor was well-known local historian Greg Koos.

"The Museum Board of Directors is excited to bring Adam’s talents and experience to McLean County," the museum said in a statement Thursday.
