ISU President Larry Dietz gives the State of The University Address Sept. 20, 2018.

The Illinois State University Board of Trustees will consider bonus pay for University President Larry Dietz on Friday.

Dietz’s contract has a base pay of $375,000. It limits bonuses to up to 13 percent, or $50,000. The board would base any extra pay on Dietz's annual performance review.

Last year, the Board found Dietz’s performance “exceptional,” and approved him the full $50,000.

Dietz’s fiscal year 2018 review echoes last year’s glowing sentiments.

The report online states the board finds Dietz’s overall performance “exceeded expectations and that he met and/or exceeded most of his fiscal year 2018 goals.”

This year, the board suggests improvement in a few areas including preparing advancement plans for senior-level employees and developing a succession plan for the president’s direct reports.

Other goals “exceeded expectations” or made “admirable progress.”
