UPDATED 11 a.m. | A 26-year-old man was shot in the leg Wednesday night on Bloomington's east side, police said.
The shooting happened around 9:30 p.m. in the 2100 block of Rainbow Avenue, near a row of apartments across the street from single-family homes. Police found a handgun and shell casings after arriving on scene. Witnesses said they heard yelling and saw two black males holding handguns before fleeing on foot.
About an hour later, a woman called 911 to report a friend had been shot in the leg. The 26-year-old man was taken to the hospital. His injuries are not life-threatening, police said.
The victim has not been cooperative and there are no suspects at this time, police said. The investigation is ongoing. Anyone with information is asked to contact BPD Detective Engle at (309) 434-2371 or email@example.com.
