The Normal Town Council will vote Tuesday on whether to take the next step in relocating four department offices to a new development in Uptown Normal. Engineering, Inspections, Planning, and Facilities Management are slated to move there in late summer or early fall 2017.
A town staff report states that the move will help departments by giving them a combined space to share resources, plans, customers, and contractors. It will also improve business hours for the departments. The council will consider spending $70 thousand on design services for the 14 thousand square foot space that will be located on the second floor of the mixed-used building at One Uptown Circle.
