The Normal Town Council will consider making some changes to an Enterprise Zone northeast of Normal tonight. Destihl is planning to build a 47,000 square foot brewery at the location and wants to take advantage of the benefits before the zone expires in May.
Normal will also decide on a 2% increase for water rates and paying for a $2.75 million grant to fill in the hole on Uptown Circle with a mixed use building.
Meanwhile, during a committee meeting tonight, the Bloomington City Council will learn more about a proposal to allow aldermen to submit agenda items. The proposal would change the current ordinance allowing an item be added as long as three Aldermen agree. They’ll also hear about the creation of a “one stop shop” approach for building projects.
