Police do not typically recommend this, but authorities say an employee at Schlotzsky's Deli in Bloomington wrestled an armed robbery suspect.
Two men entered the store in the 500 block of IAA Drive with a knife around 9:30 p.m. Friday, demanding money, police said in a statement Monday. When police arrived, they found an employee wrestling one of the suspects near the intersection of IAA and Rowe drives.
That suspect, Jalun E. Caddell, 19, of Ypsilanti, Michigan, was hospitalized and arrested on armed robbery charges. Police also recovered a knife nearby.
Police say they are still looking for the second suspect, described as a black man between the ages of 25 and 30. Anyone was information is asked to contact Detective Matt Dick at (309) 434-2475 or mdick@cityblm.org.
If you wish to remain anonymous, please call McLean County Crime Stoppers at (309) 828-1111. If your call leads to the arrest and indictment of suspect(s) you may be eligible for a reward of up to $1,000.
Caddell is being held at the McLean County jail.
