Son Beat Mom Over Interracial Date

A McLean County Jury has convicted a man of beating his mother into critical condition for dancing with a man of a different ethnic race. The McLean County State's Attorney's Office says Roger Kinnerson's Aggravated Domestic Battery Conviction will involve class X sentencing because of his prior record.

The beating happened in August of 2015 in Bloomington. Prosecutors say Kinnerson had been out drinking with his mom and several other people and he took issue with the dancing and with his mother going back to her apartment with the other man. The trial record shows Kinnerson went to his mom's apartment and prosecutors say brutally beat her.

The State's Attorney's office says In spite of that she did not cooperate with the prosecution. Sentencing is set for June 7th. Kinnerson will have to serve 85% of his sentence.
