Civil Service Council, A/P Council and the Food Insecurity Committee to host drive-thru food drive, Saturday, April 17. A drive-thru, drop-off food drive will be held to support the School Street Food Pantry from 9 a.m. to noon on Saturday, April 17 at the Normal First United Methodist Church at 211 North School Street. The School Street Food Pantry (https://schoolstreetfoodpantry.org/), which assists students who face food insecurity, serves about 90-100 students weekly. Those donating are asked to enter the parking lot off Locust Street, and to have donations ready to be removed from the back seat or trunk of the vehicle as donors drive through the lot. Donations especially needed include: Canned tuna or chicken, spaghetti sauce or canned tomato products, pasta, rice, flour, sugar, salt, spices, salad dressings, cooking oils, gluten-free items, vegan or vegetarian items, shampoo, soap, deodorant, toothpaste, feminine care products and cleaning supplies.
