Baby Safe After Vehicle Stolen With Child Still Inside

An infant is safely in her mother's care after a vehicle was stolen with her still inside.

The vehicle was stolen just after 1 p.m. Thursday at Frye and California. The car was left running with the 11-month-old inside. The car was spotted near Monroe and Spring around 1:10 p.m. The vehicle was later found in an alley off the 1000 block of NE Madison, without the baby inside.

Around 3 p.m., the child was found alone in an alley in the 2600 block of N. Prospect. The child was in good condition, and reunited with her mother. She was taken to the hospital for an evaluation.

A 16-year-old believed involved with the incident was found near Morton Square Park and taken in for questioning.
