The Peoria Police Department said a second vehicle was involved in a South Peoria crash that killed four young women on Sunday.

Jazzman Burns, 22, Diamond Williams, 18, Quanylan Thomas, 19, and Tyesha Thomas, 18, all of Peoria, were killed when their vehicle spun out and struck a tree at a high rate of speed at Washington and Darst early Sunday morning.

Peoria police said a second vehicle driven by 42-year-old Jerome Polnitz also was involved. Polnitz was arrested Wednesday for street racing, driving under a suspended license, reckless driving, leaving the scene of an accident with injury, failure to notify police, failure to render aid, and speeding.

Police said they don't think the two vehicles made contact.
