Economic developers in McLean County plan to come with a consistent way to brand Bloomington-Normal.

The Bloomington-Normal Economic Development Council is looking for public input on a community rebranding initiative.

The EDC has hired Development Counsellors International for what it's calling a "talent attraction branding and messaging project."

As part of that, the EDC is looking for members of the public to complete a survey on its website. It asks questions such as "If Bloomington-Normal were a car, what would it be?" and "If you’re a boomerang or transplant, why did you move to our region? If you’re a local, why did you stay?"

EDC leaders previously told WGLT that BN Advantage, an economic development campaign the EDC rolled out in 2015 with other community groups, has “run its course,” adding that branding was just one aspect of that effort.
