A McLean County Board member has resigned with plans to move out of state.
According to a news release from the McLean County administrator’s office, Jeannie Biles has resigned effective immediately to relocate out of state “for professional opportunities.”
Biles, who has worked as a project manager for a software-as-a-service company, was elected to the county board last November. The Democrat represents much of west Bloomington.
Biles served on the board’s property and health committees and its legislative subcommittee.
The county is accepting applications to fill the vacancy. They must be turned into the county administrator's office by noon Sept. 7. Candidates will interview with the board's executive committee on Sept. 11.
The full board will vote on a replacement that county board chair John McIntyre will nominate during its Sept. 14 meeting.
The seat must be filled by a Democrat, the same party as Biles.
The 20-member county board is evenly split among Democrats and Republicans.
