A 14-year-old Peorian faces first degree murder charges in adult court for the June shooting death of 16-year-old Zarious Fair.

Zaveon Marks faces two counts of first-degree murder and one count of unlawful possession of a firearm in connection with the murder in the 700 block of E. Frye in Peoria's East Bluff neighborhood.

Police believe Marks pulled the trigger. Fair was found lying in a driveway with gunshot wounds to the chest, abdomen and pelvis. He died about 15 minutes after arriving at the hospital.

Marks and 18-year-old Doyle E. Nelson were picked up by police at a house on N. Delaware about two hours after the shooting. Doyle faces two first degree murder charges.

Marks' case was recently transferred from juvenile court to the adult justice system.

Both teenagers are due in court later this week.
