Josh Barnett was first elected to the McLean County Board in 2016.

McLean County Board member Josh Barnett has announced he plans to seek a second term on the board next year.
“I will continue to support McLean County’s behavioral health initiatives, advocate for investment in rural infrastructure, and promote economic development to diversify and grow our local workforce and economy,” Barnett said.

The Republican Barnett serves District 10, which covers Bloomington’s east side.

Barnett lists the online streaming of County Board meetings and moving those meetings to evenings as two of his main achievements during his first term.

Barnett serves on the board’s executive, finance and property committees. He’s also the county representative on the Illinois Association of County Board Members Legislative Committee.

Barnett works as executive director of the Illinois Property Assessment Institute. He also serves on the Connect Transit’s Connect to the Future working group.
