Bloomington Man Accused Of Setting House On Fire

The Bloomington Fire Department responded to the fire in the 800 block of East Bissell Street on Monday.

A 37-year-old Bloomington man is accused of setting a house on fire after an argument Monday.

Andrew Stanley was arrested on a preliminary charge of aggravated arson, a Class X felony.

Andrew L. Stanley allegedly started the fire around 3:45 p.m. Monday at a home in the 800 block of East Bissell Street, a few blocks east of Evergreen Memorial Cemetery, Bloomington Police said. A 34-year-old woman and a teenage girl were inside the residence when the fire was lit. They escaped uninjured from the fire.

Stanley was arrested on a preliminary charge of aggravated arson, a Class X felony, police said. He was being held at the McLean County jail Tuesday.

The incident is still under investigation.
