Bradley Drawing Up Contingency Plans For Return to Campus

WCBU

Bradley University President Stephen Standifird is appointing a "Return to Campus" team to prepare for probable scenarios in the upcoming school year.

Standifird said it's unlikely business as usual will resume in August, when Bradley is aiming to return students and faculty to campus.

Three separate subcommittees will work on Bradley's "Plan B," which includes aspects of returning physically to campus in the fall, focusing on work, classroom learning, and engagement.

Measures will include looking at work scheduling, class sizes, social distancing protocols, hybrid learning, residence hall and dining accommodations, move-in week, student organization activities, and usage of common campus spaces.

"The goal for Plan B is to create a model for the university to return to campus while keeping the health and safety of our students, faculty and staff at the forefront," said Standifird in a letter to the campus community on Friday. "Since there isn't much time before fall, each team will create aggressive prioritized timelines so they can develop recommendations by June 12, 2020."

Plan C involves a "tabletop" exercise, which includes preparations for handling a positive COVID-19 case on campus.

Plan D includes beefing up Bradley's online education delivery options, including a game plan if a full return to online education is needed.
