Bustos "Concerned" After U.S. Assassination of Iranian General

Illinois Congresswoman Cheri Bustos says she's concerned about the situation in Iran and Iraq following the U.S. assassination of a prominent Iranian general.

Bustos says she knows no more than media reports about President Donald Trumps order to kill Qassem Soleimani. She says eight key members of Congress weren't told either.

"I can't think of a time where this previously hasn't happened under previous administration, where if the president of the United States is going to go into some major military effort, he is required to notify the Gang of Eight," she said. "The president didn't do that."

The Gang of Eight includes the majority and minority leaders in both houses of Congress...and the leaders of the House and Senate intelligence committees.

Bustos says she expects to learn more about what happened in a briefing later this week.
