City Seeks New Uses for Gateway Building

The city of Peoria wants to see more usage of the Gateway Building. 

The city is currently accepting proposals for temporary or experimental usage of the building along the Illinois riverfront.

Kevin Evans is the city's Senior Economic Specialist. 

"It's one of the hidden gems and underutilized assets in the city of Peoria. And we would love to marry it up with someone who wants to love it and allow it to love them as well," he said. 

Evans says there's interest from fitness and yoga groups to use some of the Gateway Building's space.

I t has a 4400 square foot ballroom and 1300 square foot meeting room available for usage.
