County Officials Will Wait To Comment On Comlara Drowning

McLean County administrators and elected officials will wait to comment on a drowning at Evergreen Lake. County Administrator Bill Wasson and Board Chair John McIntyre said they will defer comment on whether additional safety measures are needed until the investigation is closed.

Deena Rogers, 71, of Washington drowned when her vehicle went into Evergreen Lake at Comlara Park late Friday.

The incident is under investigation by the McLean County Coroner's Office and the McLean County Sheriff's Office.

Rogers’ death is the first since the county put up signs and barriers and altered traffic at the west ramp in 2014.  The west boat ramp is the location of six drownings dating back to 2002.
