Doctor Not Seeing Patients After Arrest On Sexual Assault Charges

Dr. Shaun Kink
Bloomington Police

A 36-year-old Bloomington doctor is off the job at least temporarily after being charged this week with forcing oral sex on a woman with a disability.

Dr. Shaun Kink is accused of aggravated criminal sexual assault. He allegedly assaulted the woman Dec. 5 in Bloomington, court records show. Kink’s relationship to the woman has not been released.

Kink, who was arrested Wednesday, is a foot and ankle specialist at McLean County Orthopedics.

“We are saddened by the recent news and take the allegations seriously,” said Libby Allison, a spokesperson for OSF HealthCare. “Our thoughts and prayers are with everyone involved. Dr. Kink, an independent physician, is currently on a leave from the medical staff at OSF HealthCare St. Joseph Medical Center.”

Kink’s privileges at Advocate Health Care’s facilities have been suspended pending the outcome of the case, said Advocate spokesperson Lynn Hutley.

McLean County Orthopedics told The Pantagraph he was on leave there. A message left with MCO’s vice president Friday was not immediately returned.

Kink is out on $20,000 bond and is due back in court for arraignment on Jan. 31.
