The city of East Peoria will hold a public forum Tuesday to gauge where citizens stand on recreational cannabis sales.
NuMed is a medical cannabis dispensary currently operating in East Peoria. Under the new cannabis law going into effect in January, the city can decide if it will allow recreational cannabis sales within its borders.
Morton has already banned the sale of recreational cannabis within its borders. The public forum starts at 5 p.m. at East Peoria City Hall. No action will be taken on the issue Tuesday by the city council.
