Eastland Mall in Bloomington is getting a new sporting goods store.
Hibbett Sports will open later this year in a 4,700-square-foot space located near the Charlotte Russe store, mall spokesperson Melissa Cavanagh said Friday.
The announcement comes as mall owner CBL Properties tries to revitalize the struggling mall. The mall has lost several anchors in recent years, as well as MC Sports. But Planet Fitness and Outback Steakhouse are among the businesses that have announced plans to move in.
Alabama-based Hibbett Sports has more than 1,000 stores, mostly in small and midsized communities. Its Illinois locations includes Bourbonnais, Carbondale, Ottawa, and Danville.
