The East Peoria Police Department is now investigating a 4-year-old's injuries in conjunction with the Tazewell County State's Attorney's Office.
The child was taken to the hospital from 109 Jefferson Court on Tuesday in cardiac arrest. The child is now reportedly on a ventilator.
East Peoria Police Chief Steve Roegge said Friday all questions will now be referred to the state's attorney.
