Eureka Hospital Bucks Trend, Expands

AdvocateEureka

While hospital in many small communities are closing, or cutting back on services, the Advocate Eureka hospital is opening a 28,000 square foot addition. Administrator Ana Labile says it'll house 11 new private patient rooms, and new operating rooms. She says they've had good outcomes with their current O.R.'s but are looking forward to the new ones. "But this is just night and day with the latest technology, rooms 2-1/2 times the size of what we currently have so we can do more proceedures and have more staff in the room at the same time." Labile says the addition will add another quarter to the size of Eureka's hospital. The dedication is Thursday, with guests including Lieutenant Governor Evelyn Sanquinettie. There will be an open house tour of the new section from Noon til Four on Saturday.
