Former Coliseum Manager Charged

McLean County Prosecutors have now filed a formal charge of theft of government property against a former manager of U.S. Cellular Coliseum in Bloomington.

Back in July, Curtis Webb told GLT one of his goals was to be a good public steward of funds and to reduce the operating deficit at the venue.

"You know from our standpoint if we can be transparent to the community, I think that will be a big aspect for us," said Webb.

Webb is accused of misusing a credit card for his own charges including airline tickets. But, in July, he spoke of responsibility.

"We want to decrease the deficit at this point, run an effective operation and be a good public steward of these funds," said Webb.

Webb's former employer Venuworks discharged him as the investigation came to light after a routine examination of records. Venuworks has given 16,000 dollars back to the city based on charges to the credit card from June to the end of August, or during the time of the GLT interview.

A judge has set bond for Webb at 50,000 dollars.
