New fine arts acts and more children's programming are part of the lineup of the new season at the Bloomington Center for the Performing Arts.
"We hadn't been doing as much fine arts lately. So, we're presenting several fine arts events that we haven't done in the recent past," said Ann Marie Dittman, the BCPA's assistant performing arts manager.
The new arts acts include the Vienna Boys Choir, Russian National Ballet doing "Swan Lake," and the New York Gilbert and Sullivan Society.
Dittman said new BCPA Director Jim Mack helped shape the roster of performances.
"He was very open to doing a wide variety of stuff. He encouraged me to do some of the fine arts stuff we hadn't done before. He's very supportive of the children's and family programming. I was glad to see that because arts education is one of my loves too," said Dittman.
Dittman said they are also featuring some international acts including a Flamenco group.
Tickets go on sale August 9.
