The Normal Editions Workshop  is celebrating 40 years of work.  A professional print research facility located within the School of Art at Illinois State University, the workshop exists to bring students together with visiting artists so that they may collaborate on projects.

  • This year marks the 40th anniversary of  the organization, and they've gone all out to celebrate with a series of exhibitions throughout the Twin Cities, including the McLean County Arts Center in Bloomington.
  • Veda Rives is the interim director at the Normal Editions Workshop. Printmaking today, she explained, combines older techniques like lithography with the modern digital approach, which results in a lot of experimentation.
  • The MCAC's Clairre Hedden curated to exhibition, called 40 Years NEW.  She combed through the archives of the past four decades to select works from many local artists, plus recent works by students to put on display.
  • The show is currently up and continues through Oct. 22.
