A Houston based retailer has bought the Gordman's Department store chain.
Stage Stores says it will keep about 50 strong performing Gordman's outlets open.
It's not yet clear whether the Gordman's in the Shoppes at College Hills in Normal would be one of those.
The other half of the stores would be liquidated.
Gordman's is among several chains that has had trouble adjusting to the loss of sales caused by the rise in internet commerce.
