We can all disagree on the process, and argue merits. But never should we use terms like “lynching” here. Lynchings were racially-motivated extrajudicial slayings largely targeting African-Americans. The NAACP reports more than 4,700 lynchings between 1882 and 1968.
U.S. Rep. Bobby Rush (D-Chicago) was more blunt.
