A LaSalle Democrat is challenging Rep. Adam Kinzinger (R-Channahon) for the 16th Congressional District in 2020.
Dani Brzozowski is the chair of the LaSalle County Democratic Party, a small business owner and community organizer.
A self-described "Army brat," Brzozowski worked throughout Illinois and Indiana before returning to her hometown.
She said the country's major issues are affordable healthcare, the environment, and job creation.
Kinzinger is a five-term incumbent and an occasional sharp critic of President Donald Trump. In 2018, he defeated Democrat Sara Dady 59 to 40 percent.
The 16th Congressional District stretches from Rockford in the north to portions of Stark County in the south.
