Leary Comes Out 2 Votes Ahead In Final Unofficial Peoria Township Supervisor Tally

The final tally for the February primary election is in, and it appears the incumbent Peoria Township supervisor came just two votes short of re-election. But the results aren't set in stone yet.

Frank Abdnour received 3,128 votes. That's just two votes shy of the 3,130 votes cast for challenger LaTrina Leary.

The Peoria County Election Commission posted the final unofficial tally ahead of Thursday's certification of the results.

In a Facebook post, Abdnour said he's still undecided whether he will exercise his right to a discovery recount. Leary declared victory in her own Facebook post. Neither candidate has returned WCBU's requests for comment.

With no Republicans running for township supervisor, the winner of the Democratic primary effectively wins the office.
