Tazewell County Coroner Charles Hanley said a man was found dead in the Illinois River in East Peoria on Saturday.
61-year-old David Westphal of East Peoria was found dead in the river near the Murray Baker Bridge Saturday afternoon.
Hanley said he drowned.
The case is under investigation by Hanley, the East Peoria Police Department, and the Ilinois State Police.
