Presidential candidate and hometown-boy-made-good Adlai Stevenson arrives at Miller Park on Bloomington's west side on July 4, 1956, to speak to local Democrats gathered for an Independence Day picnic.

On the Fourth of July weekend in 1956, one of Bloomington's most famous residents returned to rally support ahead of the presidential election.
