McLean County's COVID-19 count has reached 31 after 11 new cases were confirmed on Thursday.

McLean County has seen its largest surge in COVID-19 cases to date.
The McLean County Health Department reported 11 new cases on Thursday, bringing the county's total to 31. The department hasn't released any information about the new cases.

Health officials say six of the previous COVID-19 cases have recovered, while 17 remain in self-quarantine and six remain hospitalized, with one in intensive care.

Two patients have died.

McLean County health officials have said increased testing would likely reveal more COVID-19 cases. MCHD administrator Jessica McKnight said it's not clear whether any of the positive cases may have come from the mobile testing site at the McLean County Fairgrounds.

The state of Illinois reported 715 new cases on Thursday, bringing the state’s total to 7,695. Logan and Piatt counties are reporting their first cases.

Illinois reports 16 additional deaths, bringing the state’s total to 157.
