McLean County health officials announced eight new confirmed coronavirus cases Tuesday as the county’s seven-day testing positivity rate increased to 2.8%, still below state and national rates.
The McLean County Health Department (MCHD) said the county has nine people hospitalized with COVID-19. That’s up two from Monday, but none of the patients are in intensive care.
The county reported 178 patients are isolating at home, while 3,088 people have been released from isolation and are considered recovered.
The county’s cumulative testing positivity rate is 4.5%, based on more than 72,500 tests.
The community-based testing site at the Interstate Center in Bloomington remains open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily. Pekin-based Reditus conducted 630 COVID tests at the site Monday.
McLean County has had 23 COVID-related deaths since the start of the pandemic.
