Four eye care practices are just weeks away from moving into their newly merged operation on Bloomington's east side.
The new VisionPoint Eye Center will open Aug. 6. The $10 million building at 1107 Airport Road brings together four existing practices: Eye Surgical Associates, McLean County Eye Center, Central Illinois Eyecare, and Eyecare Associates.
To prepare for their moves, the four practices on Monday announced their closing dates. Eyecare Associates' last day of services will be July 26, and the others will close July 31. They will spend Aug. 1-5 moving into the new space, which opens to the public Aug. 6. A public open house is set for Sept. 14 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Contacts or glasses not picked up before the last day of services will be available at VisionPoint on Aug. 6 starting at 8 a.m. Anyone with an emergency should call the number listed for their provider or (309) 662-7700.
The four providers combined have over 40,000 patients, which will make VisionPoint one of the larger eye care practices in Illinois. It will employ around 90 people.
