There are now six people with COVID-19 hospitalized in McLean County—the most since late May during a deadly outbreak at a Bloomington nursing home.
Five new cases of the coronavirus were reported Sunday, according to the McLean County Health Department. There are now 110 active cases. That includes six people who are hospitalized, including one in intensive care, and 104 people isolating at home.
The last time McLean County had six people hospitalized with COVID-19 was May 25, during the Bloomington Rehab nursing home outbreak. Many nursing home residents were hospitalized during that outbreak, peaking at 10 people on May 20. That's unlike the current hospitalizations, which include people in their 20s, 30s, and 40s.
Around 31% of McLean County's 737 cases to date have been people in their 20s. The next highest for any group is people in their 40s, with 15% of cases.
There have been 15 COVID-related deaths in McLean County, but none since early July.

Testing update
McLean County's testing positivity rate held steady at 1.8%. That's lower than the statewide and national averages.
The drive-through testing site at Bloomington's Interstate Center remains open every day from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. It's testing on average 566 people every day.
If you have been part of a large gathering, or in extended close contact, where someone may have been COVID-19 positive, you should be tested 5-7 days after exposure. It takes that many days for the virus to incubate to levels that can be detected by a test.
