A site plan for a proposed brewery and taproom in the north part of Normal is under consideration by the Normal Town Council. If approved, the Destihl facility will use 6 acres of land and create a 47,000 square foot building that includes brewing, distribution, and retail space as well as a beer hall, offices, and event space.

The council will also review a $2.5 million agreement to finish the second platform at Uptown Station and renovate the former train station to the south. The project, which does not include the at-grade crossing, is expected to be finished by the end of the year.

In Bloomington, the City Council will meet to get an update on the Administrative Court that began last year to deal with code and ordinance violations in the city. 88 percent of property issues were resolved through this new process, with 144 percent of those problems being handled. City staff calls the court a “big success” with over $150,000 collected since last April.
