One new case of the coronavirus was reported Wednesday in McLean County.

It was a man in his 20s, according to the McLean County Health Department's website. Around 23% of McLean County's total COVID-19 cases to date (261) have been people in their 20s. That age group has seen the highest number of cases locally.

Statewide, people in the 40s have tallied the most cases. Deaths statewide have been most concentrated among those 80 and over.

There are now 10 active coronavirus cases in McLean County. Nine people are isolating at home, and one person is hospitalized. Thirteen people have died. The rest (238 of the 261 confirmed cases) have recovered.

'Green' risk level

Meanwhile, a new data tracking tool developed by the Harvard Global Health Institute has pegged McLean County's COVID-19 risk level at "green," its lowest level. McLean County has seen 0.3 new cases per 100,000 people (7-day rolling average). That's better than the statewide risk level of "yellow" (5.9 cases per 100,000 people).

Meanwhile, the drive-thru COVID-19 testing site in Bloomington set another traffic record on Tuesday.

In all, 270 people were tested at the Interstate Center on Tuesday. That broke a record of 253 set on Monday.

The testing site, now run by Pekin-based Reditus Labs, is open every day from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. It's open to anyone. No symptoms are required.

The uptick in testing demand comes as 40 states report an increase in daily cases.
