Orpheum Theatre Prepares For 1st Live Performance In A Year

The Memphis Dives will be the first band in over a year to take the stage live for an in-person audience at Galesburg's Orpheum Theater when they perform Friday night. Live musical performances are beginning again at many venues, as COVID-19 restrictions are loosened and vaccinations continue rolling out.

Orpheum Theatre Executive Director Erin Glasnovich said the theater staff has become adept at quickly readjusting during the pandemic.

"We're at 25% capacity right now," Glasnovich said. "So it is a bit of a dance to try and orchestrate it all. It's kind of all a new way of thinking of and making it happen. But we're so excited, and it's so going to be worth it."Glasnovich said the Memphis Dives are known for performing in a versatile range of  genres, and for always putting on a great show. They're also giving back more than just music. "They're $20 tickets. The band has graciously asked to have them donated back to the Orpheum. The $20 tickets supports the Orpheum Theatre, which is a nonprofit charity. It'll help preserve the theater and keep it going," Glasnovich said. For more information on tickets and events, click here.
