The Peoria City/County Health Department is reporting the area's first COVID-19 related death.
Peoria County Coroner Jamie Harwood said a man in his 90s has died after testing positive for the virus.
There are 26 confirmed COVID-19 cases in Peoria, Tazewell, and Woodford counties. More than 10,000 positive cases and 243 deaths are reported in Illinois as of Saturday evening.
The Peoria City/County Health Department said they will answer questions at a press briefing 2 p.m. Sunday.
